Lancii was built out of frustration with disconnected, complex client management applications.
The Search for a Studio OS
As a boutique design and engineering studio, StudioGVB struggled to coordinate client projects. We juggled emails for files, Notion wikis for backlogs, Dubsado for proposals, and Stripe invoices for billing.
None of the CRM solutions on the market mirrored our design aesthetics, and general wiki platforms leaked data due to complex, shared database visibility rules. We wanted a lightweight, high-performance light interface that looked custom-designed for clients.
Engineering Lancii
We decided to construct our own operating system. Built with Next.js, Resend email routing, and PostgreSQL Row-Level Security, Lancii isolates client work scopes at the database layer.
After running GVB operations on this software internally for months, we realized other boutique studios and independent freelancers could benefit from the same infrastructure. Lancii launches publicly on August 14th.
